I couldn’t be more thrilled. Yesterday, Jeanette Lynton choose the art I submitted to Close to My Heart to be the first Consultant featured in her Spotlight on Art. Whoo Hoo! What an honor. I thought I’d share the art I created here on my site, too.
I highlighted Close to My Heart’s Dimensional Elements Monograms. I LOVE these chipboard letters for so many different projects – Scrapbook Layouts, Cards and paper crafting. Click on the picture to see the fonts that are contained on each of the letters.
I created a quick title on my scrapbook layouts using the large graphic letters. I simply used a stipple brush to add a bit of color to the letters.:
For this card, I choose a smaller more whimsical font. And to get that saturated color on the letters, I took a large stamp and turned it over and placed it on a block. I pressed the flat side firmly into the ink and then pressed it on the letter. It is so much quicker and less messy than using a sponge and it gets a darker coverage.
Finally, I found one of the fonts to be the perfect size for our new Mini Banner. Then using the Universal Background stamp, I stamped directly onto the letters to get a wood-grained finish. These banners come together really quickly when you use the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.
Thanks so much Jeanette – you made my day. And special thanks to those who have left me a nice message on facebook and Jeanette’s blog…I appreciate it so much!
Hugs, M
